OUTSIDE USERS HELPING WITH MARCH 6-18 RUN:
Paul Pancella will be at IUCF during the Western Michigan spring break. His dates are February 4 - 10. We need information for Hal Spinka and Mark Pickar. Tom Rinckel and Jack Doskow will leave for spring break and be out of the lab from February 9 on.
RUN PLANNING:
Linda Elbert has asked for information on the amount of support that will be needed for Cooler running. (This information has been passed along.)
We probably need about two days of access to cover all the setup tasks now knows. These include:
The development of deuteron intensity was postponed because of problems with the polarization from CIPIOS. So that development will need to be done now. Things to try, besides tuning, include:
The main new thing to test will be the luminosity detectors. So we will begin with the d+d scintillators and new silicon position. There should be some consistency between profile measurements. Then we roll back the Pb-glass and add the forward 25 deg. counters to the system, switching to a hydrogen gas target. If this new system has problems, we should made every effort to fix them during the run.
For the channel, currents in the magnets will be scaled according to the change in rigidity. Timing will be changed according to the energy loss calculations. The trigger will include dE1*dE2*E in coincidence and V1*V2 as a veto (although we may test rates without the veto).
REPLAY
There is no evidence for crosstalk among any of the delta-E(1) scintillators.
