MINUTES OF THE CE78 GROUP MEETING

19 October 2000 (PVP)

Present: Chris Allgower, Hermann Nann, Paul Pancella, Tom Rinckel, Sitaram Shastry

Meeting came to order at 3:10 pm.

Chris Allgower reported that he and Shastry are in the process of constructing 6 delay boxes. Sufficient connectors for all of these are not yet in house.

Chris has tested the 8 large lead glass detectors. One is described as "a little funky", but the rest have passed. ANL counters are still being repaired.

SEPTUM MAGNET

The second of the two coil assemblies is now baking in the oven. Both coils have been tested electrically and show no short circuits. Tom estimates it will take about another 2 weeks to terminate all of the leads for water cooling and power. He is still working out the details of jumpers and power connection. The outside machining for the vacuum chamber is now expected to be completed and returned during the first week of November.

WIRE CHAMBERS

Contrary to what was reported last week, Keith Solberg is still working on one of the five circuit boards for the wire chambers. It should be finished and sent out very soon.

The meeting adjourned at about 3:25 pm.
